How to Beat Fake News? 'Vaccination' Could Be the Answer

CekFakta impacted 2019 presidential debates with large-scale, real-time, collaborative fact-checking that enabled a quick release of fact-checked information. The collaborative process is key to helping people find high-quality information amid so much online content.

As conspiracy theories spread and misleading news stories are shared, educators are trying to battle misinformation with media literacy education. Through courses, and updated class curriculum, students from elementary to college are learning how to better differentiate between false news stories and misinformation.

What began as informal online gaming sessions grew into a group of hundreds of LGBTQ gamers, calling themselves Charlotte Gaymers Network, that fostered community and a safe place to gather during the pandemic. In an effort to diversify Arizona’s disproportionately white judiciary, legal professionals are volunteering in the state’s Legal Futures program to do outreach to high school and college students. The students spend face-to-face time with the professionals learning about career pathways and often leave with contact information to stay in touch.
