They found that feeding the felines meaty food and engaging in play that simulates hunting reduced the amount of wildlife they killed. And about three-quarters of owners who participated in the study said they would continue to play with their pets after it ended.

Library staff also assisted people who couldn’t fill the form out on their own and, home-bound residents, could request a form and a tablet with access to the internet be brought to their home so they could fill it out themselves. Over 6,000 people used the library’s services to pre-register for the COVID-vaccine.

    A nonprofit is taking discarded oyster shells from restaurants and giving them a new purpose as homes for marine life in Galveston, Texas. The Galveston Bay Foundation started an oyster recycling program, which have now grown to include 10 area restaurants. Oysters are collected weekly, at no cost to restaurants, then taken to a facility to be processed and disinfected naturally. "The program has recycled 1,072 tons of oyster shells."

Thousands of farmers have been protesting for weeks about the government’s new agricultural laws. Since there are many older farmers and the government has blocked the internet, they give out free print copies of their biweekly “Trolley Times” newspaper with information on speeches, medical aid, and community kitchens. While producing the newspaper has become harder, they are able to print about 5,000 copies for the farmers.
